Owaanacog is the main god of the azagishi. He is one of the Children of Io, although it is not certain if he created a race on his own. He appears as a large ape with four arms and four legs. In each arm he carries a longsword. Sometime he is represented riding a giant demonic boar with flaming eyes. He adopted the patronage over the azagishi long ago, as they switched from pure animism to a more complex religious system. At that time he was resurrected and his body could escape the ethereal plane.

Death, mayhem and destruction are the principles of Owaanacog. But also prowess in battle and honour towards the superiors. The law of Owaanacog is the law of the Azagishi, and every crime is punished by death, how painful and slow it is, depends on the 'crime'. Small cults dedicated to this god are found all over Naboria, founded by non-azagishi lawful evil fighters and soldiers.

Clergy and Temples

The clergy of Owaanacog is highly structured, and with a very inflexible hierarchy. Obedience is the prime mandate of the clerics. The few temples of Owaanacog are bastions of darkness, with deep dungeons where the sentenced to death are tortured until their time arrives. The semi nomadic azagishi gather around large fires to pray to Owaanacog. Clerics act as advisors for the warlords, or are self warlords. There exist an elite group, called the Black Flames, an order of 'dark paladins' and rangers that seed terror and death in the northern provinces of Tsunami and Pathdhana.

Black Flame Paladins

Black Flame Paladins are like paladins except for following differences:

Alignment: lawful evil

Aura of Evil (Ex): The power of a dark paladin's aura of evil (see the detect evil spell) is equal to her dark paladin level.

Detect Good (Sp): At will, a paladin can use detect good, as the spell.

Smite Good (Su): Once per day, a dark paladin may attempt to smite good with one normal melee attack. She adds her Charisma bonus (if any) to her attack roll and deals 1 extra point of damage per dark paladin level. If the dark paladin accidentally smites a creature that is not good, the smite has no effect, but the ability is still used up for that day. At 5th level, and at every five levels thereafter, the dark paladin may smite good one additional time per day, to a maximum of five times per day at 20th level.

Touch of Decay (Su): Beginning at 2nd level, a dark paladin with a Charisma score of 12 or higher can cause wounds by touch. Each day she can cause a total number of damage points equal to her dark paladin level x her Charisma bonus. A dark paladin may choose to divide her damage among multiple targets, and she doesn't have to use it all at once. Using Touch of Decay is a standard action. Using Touch of Decay requires a successful melee touch attack and doesn't provoke an attack of opportunity. The dark paladin decides how many of her daily allotment of points to use as damage after successfully touching the target.

Rebuke Undead (Su): When a dark paladin reaches 4th level, she gains the supernatural ability to rebuke undead. She may use this ability a number of times per day equal to 3 + her Charisma modifier. She rebukes undead as a cleric of three levels lower would.

Cause Disease (Sp): At 6th level, a dark paladin can produce a cause disease effect, as the spell, once per week. She can use this ability one additional time per week for every three levels after 6th (twice per week at 9th, three times at 12th, and so forth).

All other abilities remain unchanged.
